Just a couple of clarifications - the reason why there are so many half point byes is that eight of the participants still had games to finish in the Club Championship. Most of these players will be joining in round 2, although there is still one game to play in the D grade.
Second clarification - my pairing looks a bit odd, as I should have been paired against somebody with a higher rating. This was because, just before play began, we had an odd number of players, so I was going to sit out to allow all the new people to have a game. Then, at the last minute, Fabrizio Facchini showed up, so rather than reseat everyone, I paired myself against him. All the games ultimately went to the higher rated player, although there was some fierce resistance shown, and not just from my opponent! In particular I thought that Joshua Wight put up a good fight, and Peter Stoeveken definitely looked relieved to win that one in the end.
Results are below. I could put up a provisional draw for round 2, but there are usually last minute changes, so I won't bother.
