The ever-popular annual Upper Hutt Open Rapid took place yesterday, 15th June, and was dominated by Wellington players.
The A grade was won by Scott Wastney, who also won the Kapiti Rapid last month.
Brian Nijman reports that he was leading with a round to go, but then lost to Anthony. Brian ended up sharing second with Anthony and Russell (whom he beat in his normal fashion - ditto for his win against Edgar).
Ross drew with Scott in round 1, which was generous since Ross had a winning position and over two minutes on his clock compared to Scott who was playing on increment.
Michael Sole won the B-grade with 5.5.
Paul He won all his games (the only player to do so) to win his grade.
