Very sad to hear of the death of Roger Perry, who died on Thursday at the age of only 58 from cancer. He was a lovely guy, a great sportsman, and a talented chess player. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. He played in the Club Championships 2017, he had been having chemotherapy, and he seemed to be making a recovery.
Here he is destroying me in the Club Championship. He just builds up relentless pressure on the king side, and although he misses a win on move 30 (...Bd4+! 31. Nxd4 Qh4+ etc) he punishes all my endgame mistakes with accurate play.
