In the B group Ross wasn't playing which gave Alan the chance to take sole lead if he could win against newcomer Jesse Barraza. However, he could only draw so currently there is a tie for first place.
Looking at the C group, it gives me a great big headache thinking about how all these catch-up games are going to take place - thank God I'm no longer the person who has to organise this. New boy Yogesh Kulkarni is on fine form here, having won all his games.
And the D group is being dominated by William Scarlett. He beat Karthik on Thursday and has a huge 1.5 point lead.
