Layla scoring well at Tromso

Both Open and Women's teams are on 7 points out of 16 after 8 rounds at the Tromso Olympiad, each with three match wins, four losses and a draw. Three rounds to go.

The stand-out performance of 5.5 out of 7 has been Wellington Chess Club's Layla Timergazi for the Women's team. More than one person at the club last week wondered aloud to me what she was doing on bottom board! Most of her games have been fairly convincing (and short), although she had to show all her fighting spirit to come back from a lost position against Norway 3 in the 7th round.

Here is her 6th round win against Jamaica's Krishna Gray, while others in the team were struggling somewhat.
