Rapid Tournament

On Thursday we started a 6 round Rapid while we were waiting for the laggards to finish playing in the Club Championship. I won't be able to play in the last 2 rounds as I have a game against Bill to play, but decided to join up anyway to make the numbers even. It was actually a lot of fun, and there was some interesting chess played.
This week we welcome to the club Zack Scott-Howson, former Josh Wight team-mate and Van der Hoorn acolyte, and another player helping to bring down the average age!  He celebrated his arrival with his first victory in round 2, so well done to him.

In round one the biggest upset was Alex Johnson impressively defeating B grade player Alok Pandey. I have included the game at the end of this report, along with Bob List's first official rated game playing at the club, where he defeated Andreas Theodosiou.

In round 2 Matt overcame John Cook once again, repeating his result from the Club Championship. I was lucky to survive a Bob List onslaught on my King when he failed to press home his massive advantage.
